About Us

The congregation was relocated from the old location into Katutura suburban by the colonial regirme on 10 December (International Human Rights Day) 1962 and was stationed at the Groot Kerk parish which was build by the Church of Rheinland as a gift from abraod. And both congregations started to serve their members in this respective bulilding together with their indigenous clergy the likes of late legend Pastor Paulus Gowaseb, Pastor Jason Haufiku & Evangelist Tjiramba and others dedicated servant up to its present time.

This congregation is the mother congregation of all the various parishes in ciruit Windhoek today was all the others were formed such as Martin Luther, Bethel & Tanidare in the coming years. And it is a historic stature now in the history of our bleleoved country and church as a whole because it was a vital and sigfinicant venue for the struggle for independence during that dark era.

Currently the two parishes are in the process planning to commemorate in 2012 a 50th year anniversary of the church building together with its varoius members of the ELCRN as a great milestone and history achieved over the years. Currently renovation works at the site is at full swing because of that great historic celebration was it will be freshly revived again to the modern Lutherans. When the church as a whole has historical occasions and incidents to rembember they always make use of this historic building because of its history, convenience, image and importance to its indigenous people sons and daughters of the soil.

The Ephesian & Macedonia Parishes are twin congregations and their biological mother is the Triune God and they resides under the auspisces of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia (ELCRN) the second biggest Protestant church in our beloved country who make a meaningful and noble aid to the independence of our beloved country through various brilliant attempts such as the Open Letter of 1971 etc.And currently running also an outstanding progrmamme of the Basic Income Grant (BIG) to the welfare of the Namibian nation to address and try it utmost best to alleviate the living standard and dignity of the disadvantage and marginalised class of the society in our country through this pilot project.
